Imperial County

Photographed in California’s Imperial County during the first Trump administration, this work traces a border landscape of canals, fields, dust and checkpoints. Irrigation, labor and migration are tied to the same infrastructure. Abundance is engineered; scarcity is administered. The pictures remain close to the people and their land, where power is already inscribed. The complete project is published by Kehrer Verlag in book form.
