ABOUT

Lars has worked for clients, magazines and agencies on projects all around the world. His awarded work has been exhibited in various solo and group shows across Germany and Europe. His first book "Imperial County" is available through Kehrer Verlag.

“Lars’ cinematic photographs follow a timeless aesthetic driven by his search for authenticity in our increasingly artificial world. Whether he is working on a personal project, an intimate portrait session or a large scale commercial shoot, there is a naturalism in his visual reaction to people, situations and landscapes, which creates the certain strength and universal beauty of his evocative photography.
With great practice and understanding of natural light Lars takes pictures with an aura which itself becomes an effortless social, emotional or political comment on the contemporary world we live in. He is well aware that the real and the ideal might never meet, but instead of giving up his images fight for a human experience by inventing a rich, versatile world for us how it most likely isn't but probably should be!
In the process Lars get’s close to the people and rather makes them collaborators than subjects, participating in the representation of their specific reality or personal beauty. Depicting this vision through a broad spectrum of life in many different shades and colors, after all his photos could make us feel that we are not alone and express a hope for the future ahead of us.
